Selections from A New Mexican Burial will be exhibited at No Name Cinema, opening on Friday, October 7 from 6-9pm. The exhibition features a survey of New Mexican cemeteries documented in various analog formats, including instant film and Super8mm movie film. Stories of the land are embedded in aesthetic signifiers layered with burial reports, family trees, historical traumas, and personal narratives. These spaces are a testament to ingenuity, cultural exchange, tradition, and religious custom. They are also a constantly evolving reflection of the living, representing both a past and a present, the living and the dead.
No Name Cinema is curated by founder, Justin Clifford Rhody. Limited edition accordion booklets will be available at the opening reception. No Name Cinema is located at 2013 Pinon Street, Santa Fe NM. Masks required.
