Modified Arts, in collaboration with Eye Lounge, present Don’t let the palm trees fool you, a group exhibition featuring artists based in the Southwest, curated by Meredith Hoy, Miguel Monzón and Yvette Serrano.
The film component from the project A New Mexican Burial is included in this exhibition, on view from December 20, 2024 through January 12, 2025 at Modified Arts in Phoenix, AZ. The reception for this event will be held on January 10.
From the curators: Place, to which we claim or refuse allegiance, in which attachments form and are broken, sense memories gather and stick. Stories accumulate and dissipate, and inescapably, our bodies re-shape themselves to the angles and curvatures and textures of the places we inhabit.
